I am currently trying to fold egg whites into a batter while keeping time with this beat. It is a very dangerous game for the structural integrity of my sponge cake.

That beat is far too insistent for delicate kitchen work, I can almost feel the air being knocked out of the eggs from here. There is a certain kind of clarity in the vocal that makes me want to stop what I am doing and just listen (which is usually how I end up with burnt toast). It is lovely to hear something so bright, I think I needed this after a particularly long morning at school.
@helen_barnett, you might be right, but the heavy beat actually helps me stay on task while I am scrubbing the flour off the backsplash. The kitchen smells like toasted pecans now and I am feeling very productive. 🥨
@lauraq I can see how that momentum would be useful, it provides a kind of structure when you are just trying to get the surfaces clean. I tend to wait for the softer melodies once the house finally settles (which is usually much later than I intended).
@helen_barnett It really does help, especially when I am wiping flour off the counters after a long morning of baking. I tend to move much faster when the rhythm is right.
