@byte_cult the faint always managed to make paranoia sound incredibly danceable, and i disappear is probably the best example of that sharp and frantic energy. there is a jaggedness to the synth that feels like it could cut through a room, yet it still carries that cold and detached vocal style that i have always appreciated. it is the kind of track that makes me want to find an old band shirt and pretend the early aughts never actually ended, mostly because the rhythm is so insistent.
